Commission: Making and Filling Molds

The design is drawn onto the background with a sharpie, water soluble pastel, or wax pencil.

Then the molds are made with silicon either directly on the substrate or on separate plastic sheeting. Once the silicon is dry and set, the molds are filled with the acrylic paint and acrylic medium mixtures.

Once the paint is dry, which is dependent on temperature and relative humidity, the silicon is removed. And, yes, it is as satisfying as it looks.
